Solutions Development Engineer

Here at Levidian we have a great opportunity for a developing engineer or scientist to fulfil a unique role in support of both our Sales and Engineering teams. Working as the link between Engineering, Product Development and Sales, you will be tailoring engineering and commercial proposals to meet clients’ needs and help drive revenue.

 

Accountabilities

  • Helping to understand clients’ needs and translate these into technical and commercial proposals.

  • Helping to engineer the interfaces between our equipment and the client’s site.

  • Supporting sales to provide technical detail that supports our offers and answer specific client questions relating to feed gas and our unique technology.

  • Developing techno commercial models (MS Excel) that help us to convey the value of our product to prospective clients.

  • Helping design and seek out additional technology to compliment and enhance our commercial offering.

  • Feeding back customer reactions and information to the Engineering team to help develop our growing list of products and services.

  • Delivering with excellence and upholding the values and behaviours of Levidian.


Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will be a team player with the ability to multitask in a science lead environment. You will need to be a problem solver with a range of practical skills and an energetic and positive approach to working life. You will pride yourself on your strong organisational skills and ability to drive tasks to completion. Commercially minded, you will enjoy the challenge of translating scientific facts into real world customer solutions. You written English should be exemplary.

Your experience:

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • 3+ years working in an engineering or scientific field with a commercial focus.

  • Practical experience with mechanical/electrical/control systems and an understanding of ‘solutions vs products’.

  • Understanding of mass/energy balances and commercial business models.

  • Bid/proposal writing experience or other forms of technical reporting.

The following experience would be advantageous:

  • Experience within a start-up and/or fast paced working environment.

  • Decarbonisation technology experience.

  • Solutions sales experience.

Education and qualifications:

Degree or equivalent in an engineering or science discipline. Or a very demonstrable set of references with relevant experience.


Location and travel requirements

This role is based at our Technology Centre in Cambridge. We take a very flexible approach to hours and understand you probably have responsibilities outside of work. Let us know how we can work together to accommodate them.

We don't expect much travel being required, other than the occasional event and/or meeting. Work-related travel expenses are covered in line with our company policy.
