Levidian and Gas Malaysia Showcase Asia Pacific's First LOOP System to Industry Leaders in Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - 3 June 2026

Levidian joined Gas Malaysia today at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to showcase how methane can be transformed into one of the world's most advanced materials - graphene.

The event brought together industry leaders, customers, researchers and technology stakeholders from across Malaysia to explore the opportunities created by Asia Pacific's first deployment of Levidian's LOOP technology.

Earlier this year, Gas Malaysia successfully deployed the region's first LOOP system and entered into an exclusive ASEAN collaboration agreement with Levidian. The partnership provides a platform for the production of sustainable graphene and supports the development of advanced material supply chains across Southeast Asia.

The event, titled From Methane to Graphene: Revolutionising Industry with Graphene, provided an opportunity to share the progress already made through the collaboration and discuss how graphene can be incorporated into products ranging from polymers and coatings to construction materials, energy storage and other industrial applications.

Representatives from Levidian, including Chief Commercial Officer Ian Hopkins, joined by colleagues Mitesh Modi and Rommell Book engaged with attendees to discuss the commercial opportunities that graphene presents for manufacturers and industrial organisations across the region.

Ian Hopkins, Chief Commercial Officer at Levidian, said:

"The deployment of our first LOOP system in Asia Pacific was an important milestone. Today's event is about the next step - working with industry to understand where graphene can create value and how we can help build local supply chains and manufacturing capability across the region."

The event forms part of Levidian's wider strategy to establish regional graphene production close to end users, enabling industries to access sustainable advanced materials while creating new value from existing gas infrastructure.

Malaysia is emerging as an important market for advanced materials and lower-carbon industrial technologies, making it a natural location for the first deployment of LOOP technology in Southeast Asia. Through its collaboration with Gas Malaysia, Levidian is helping to create the foundations for a regional graphene ecosystem that can support innovation, manufacturing and industrial growth across ASEAN.

The positive level of engagement throughout the event reflected the growing interest in sustainable graphene production and its potential role in supporting Malaysia's industrial development ambitions. As industries across the region look for ways to improve performance, reduce emissions and create higher-value products. Graphene is increasingly being recognised as a material capable of delivering meaningful commercial and environmental benefits.

Levidian would like to thank Gas Malaysia for hosting the event and all attendees for contributing to an engaging discussion on the future of graphene, advanced materials and industrial innovation across Southeast Asia.
