Levidian and Kanoo Energy secure first tonne graphene order in the Middle East

Reflects growing demand from large-scale industries turning to graphene for performance, cost and sustainability advantages

Advanced materials and climate tech company Levidian today announced its first order for a tonne of graphene in the Middle East, to be supplied through its strategic partner Kanoo Energy, part of Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group, to a large-scale industrial client.

The order marks a significant milestone in Levidian’s commercial journey and provides further evidence of accelerating demand for industrial volumes of high-quality graphene. Importantly, it represents a major step forward in an innovative new application area, creating a platform for wider industry adoption in the Middle East and beyond.

In response to global megatrends such as digitalisation, electrification and decarbonisation, industrial customers are increasingly looking to graphene as a viable route to enhance performance, reduce costs and lower carbon emissions.

Graphene’s entry into large-scale industrial applications has historically been slowed by challenges around cost, quality, consistency and scalability. Levidian’s patented LOOP technology tackles these directly, enabling customers to access verified, high-performance graphene in meaningful volumes. In addition, LOOP’s modular design and ability to deploy units near the point of demand strengthens supply chains, an increasingly critical factor in today’s volatile geopolitical environment.

Colin Elcoate, Managing Director – MENA Region, at Levidian, said: “This first tonne order is a major milestone for Levidian and for the wider graphene market. It reflects the strength of our partnership with Kanoo Energy and shows that industry has real appetite to adopt graphene when quality, reliability and scale are in place. Crucially, this is just the beginning – we see this order as the first step towards much larger industrial adoption.”

Ali Abdulla Kanoo, Deputy Chairman, Yusuf Bin Ahmed Kanoo Group KSA, and Chairman of Kanoo Industrial & Energy, said: “This order demonstrates that graphene is ready to deliver real-world impact at scale. Working with Levidian, we are laying the foundations for a first-of-its-kind graphene production capability in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, aligned with our sustainability ambitions and regional growth strategy.”

Levidian is building momentum through a strong pipeline of graphene offtake agreements, supporting applications across polymers, coatings, construction and energy infrastructure.
